A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM THE INTERNATIONAL SERVICES CENTER

Faces of those in need

Dear Friends:

Throughout the year, the staff and volunteers of the International Services Center see these faces right here in Cleveland. We are one of the key nonprofit agencies addressing the needs of refugees sent to Northeast Ohio. They didn’t ask to come to our city. They were told where they were going. And we have been responding to their needs.

Can you imagine living in a refugee camp for 5 or 10 or more years and then being relocated to a neighborhood on the Westside of Cleveland? Culture shock. Communication challenges. Different food. Different people. And the International Services Center works with each person on their needs.

It takes a lot of resources to support each person. Although the U.S. Government provides some funding for up to 6 months, it is inadequate. Our agency struggles to find additional resources for our new residents.

We need your help now more than ever.  Think of ISC as the only friend a refugee has when arriving in Cleveland. Whatever the amount you have to share to help these refugees will be greatly appreciated!

Your contributions to the International Services Center are tax-deductible.

Kenneth J. Kovach, President

OUR HISTORY AND MISSION

ISC is dedicated to assisting refugees, immigrants and other new citizens in overcoming social, cultural and economic barriers.

International Services Center was established in 1916 as a  non-sectarian, private non-profit refugee resettlement and social services agency and has a successful history of service to the community.

We need your help and are actively seeking volunteers and donations.

We really need ESOL volunteers and tutors. Look on the left of this page for more information.

Please DONATE to support our work, in these times of reduced funding and economic difficulties, so that we can continue to provide caring services to those in need.

We invite you to view our website and contact us with any questions!

Karin Wishner, Executive Director
