International Services Center resettles refugees from various countries
to the Greater Cleveland area through the Bureau of Populations,
Refugees and Migration of the U.S. Department of State, in cooperation
with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Since
1994, the U.S. Department of State has rated the ISC program their
highest rating, “commendable”.
The
International Services Center coordinates all aspects of transitioning
to American culture including English and acculturation classes,
employment assistance, and help accessing and navigating services in our
community.
Immigration and
Citizenship Services
ISC is
accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel and represent
clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services,
the Immigration Court, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
ISC
offers preparation for the U.S. citizenship interview, with
non-immigrant and immigrant visas, and family re-unification.
Fingerprinting
We
offer both electronic and ink-rolled fingerprinting for non-immigration
purposes.
Employment
Counseling & Training for Refugees
Counseling to individuals for job skills assessment, introduction to the
American work environment, and job skills training are part of the
employment program. The major step to refugee self-sufficiency is
securing and maintaining employment. ISC has ties with numerous
employers for job placement after training is complete.
