"First of all, I would like to express
my appreciation and gratitude to the International Services Center and
each and every one of them individually, who helped and supported me along
my difficult path of adjusting to the new American life.
When my family and I arrived to this country in January of 1998, it felt
like we were just thrown into a foreign melting pot where we knew nothing
and nobody. I started as a volunteer at the Center, and worked my way up
to become a full-time employee. It was the kind and friendly people at the
Center who helped me to adapt to the new life. Especially Karin, Al, Mona,
Richard, Irma, Marta, Susan, Katherine and others. Here I was taught how
to use a computer, how to deal with people and how to be an American. It
was also my first job in the United States and my best experience.
I think that if not for International Services Center, I would
not have been where I am right now. I am greatly thankful to the Center
and everyone who was there for me every step of the difficult way that new
Americans may have."
